Il sistema Step Up di RS2 è un retrofit hardware affidabile e facile da installare tramite un
semplice scambio di schede installate in sistemi legacy. Il Step Up℠
si basa sull'affidabile M5 Bridge di Mercury Security, che consente agli utenti
di eseguire un semplice scambio di tutte le schede attualmente installate in contenitori legacy
con uno Step Up℠ compatibile per la sostituzione.
Clienti che hanno precedentemente installato sistemi Legacy (citando per esempio i sistemi
come Picture Perfect ™ di Casi, Facility Commander ™ e Secure Perfect ™) sono in grado
di salvagurdare l'intero investimento in cablaggio periferico, la tecnologia dei lettori, la rete
di comunicazione, contenitori e distribuzione dell'alimentazione. Anche i costi della sostituzione
sono ridotti al minimo in confronto al rifacimento completo dell'intero sistema.
Utilizzando un'unità sostitutiva Step Up℠ è, infatti, possibile farlo:
è sufficiente rimuovere i connettori dalla scheda legacy, rimuoverli dal contenitore,
quindi sostituirli con i corrispondenti scehde Step Up℠, rimontare i connettori
e avviare il sistema. L'hardware con bridge è ora architettura aperta, affidabile e utilizzabile
con la tecnologia attuale.
Anche i tempi di inattività del sistema sono ridotti al minimo con Step Up℠ infatti tutte le schede
sono "sostituibili a caldo", il che significa che è possibile eseguire nuove installazioni o sostituzioni
mentre l'armadio è acceso e fa funzionare il sistema. Il controllore Step Up℠ memorizza il proprio database,
nonché tutte le informazioni ed operazioni schedulate, incluse le fasce orarie, blocco/sblocco lettori,
utenti e livelli di accesso. Questo elimina eventuali interruzioni della funzionalità del sistema se il
il computer host non è disponibile o non funziona.
